Goodbye House!

9 years ago Jake and I bought our first house.

The past few weeks we said goodbye to that house. The place where we were first married, where we brought home our babies, where Dax and Addy learned to sit, crawl, talk, and walk. While we're SO excited for our new house, there was also some sadness in leaving.

First, we packed up and watched them take away all of our stuff to storage, crossing our fingers that it all gets to our new house in one piece!

Then, after getting moved in to temporary housing at Grandma Caren and Grandpa Phil's, we went back to say one last goodbye. The kids said goodbye to their rooms (and insisted that they snap a photo of us in our empty room, too). Dax said, "Mommy, I told my room that sometimes we might drive by and it can wave if it wants to." Then the kids gave goodbye hugs outside. We'll definitely miss this place that sheltered and took care of us!

We also visited our new house again now that it is almost complete. We are counting the days and getting more and more excited!

Summer!

The end of the school year and beginning of summer are always fun, busy times of year. This year has been particularly crazy with the move and transition, but we're trying to find time for some playing, too.

We had Dax's end of preschool picnic.

Dax and Ads went on several adventures during their last few days with Penny this school year.

My teaching partner and I prepared our classroom for summer construction.

We went for one last walk around the pond near our old house and tried skipping rocks (with Flat Jesus from church - we will hopefully remember to bring Jesus with us on many adventures this summer!).

We celebrated our previous daycare provider, Denise, at her retirement party.

We also celebrated our sweet Adelaide on her 1000th day.

And of course we played inside...

and outside!

Summer is just beginning and we are enjoying it!
