Cabin Life

The Schulz clan traveled near McGregor, MN to Big Sandy Resort. It was a crazy, relaxing, fun vacation and it can be summed up in Dax's words going to sleep the first night: "Today was a really good day!"

SOO excited to be heading up north
Catching up on her reading during the drive
Less excited after awhile on the road...
And thrilled to have arrived!
Running to find our cabin.
We had some fun in the cabins,

checked out the pool,

and Dax got his first opportunity to go fishing. It was so fun, but we didn't catch anything!

We didn't have any bait so Grandma Mary tried using a snail (with no luck!)

We had a bonfire (is there anything better than the smell of campfire and yummy s'mores?!),

played foot golf at the local golf course,

The only hole-in-one of the day!
and spent some time at the beach.

We went on a family canoe ride,

Me and Anna
Our family canoeing
played at the resort's playground,

and had lots of family time.

It was a delightful time away from normal life and we are already looking forward to our next trip!

Summer part 4

Here's a look at our summer fun from the last few weeks...

Celebrating Great-Grandpa Harry's birthday party.

Dax and Grandma Mary checking out the lake
Addy playing with Great-Grandma Marlys
Going to the MN Zoo with Claire, Kate, Asher, and Ada.

The new play area is SO fun!
Making music
Sweet girls
The big kids hanging
Take this quick, Mom, or I might eat it!
Sweet kids uncovering dinosaur bones
Addy, Asher, Claire, ??, Dax, Kate, and Ada
Looking for the brand new Hawaiian Monk Seals
Checking out the new splash pad at the treehouse playground (I think it is actually called Cliff Fen Park):

Another zoo trip with Samantha and James (you may notice Dax did not want to stop the imaginative play he was doing at home before we left!):

Our last music class (where has summer gone?!)

Addy LOVES playing with the instruments during Musikgarten
Daddy used a vacation day from work and was able to join us for the last class!
And, as always, lots and lots of playing at our house!

We have a few more weeks to play and play and play before the school year starts and our new reality hits.
