Addy keeps us on our toes. She throws food during meals - Dax calls it "ninjaing her food" because she flings it across the room or down to the floor harder than you'd expect from a sweet little girl. It's hard not to laugh in the moment, but significantly less funny cleaning up the pile of food sprinkled around her high chair following a meal.
She still eats most foods we serve her, but is continuing to shy away from a lot of veggies. The other big change during meals is Addy has been drinking some whole milk. Going back to school and pumping has been challenging and, since she was so close to a year, we started to introduce this new drink in order to make the transition easier when the frozen breast milk runs out. So far, so good!
She LOVES wielding her own utensils during meals lately
Her curiosity has been piqued more and more as she continues to be more mobile. She scoots/crawls around quickly and loves to get herself into precarious positions - under the table, up the stairs, etc... Once, she was playing in the bathroom while I got ready in the morning and she climbed up to standing on Dax's stool. It was hilarious to see her peek over the edge of the counter, but a reminder that we cannot take our eyes off of her for even a second!
Oh, you wanted me to stay in the living room? You're going to need to get something taller.
That stool was meant to stop Addy from getting to the easel because she likes to eat the chalk. Clearly didn't work.
Addy also recently started sitting up while in her crib. Previously she'd move around her crib, but stay laying down until we'd come to get her in the morning or after naps. Since she figured out how to sit up on her own, she has been fighting going to sleep and will crawl around or walk around the edge of her crib for as long as an hour before wearing herself out enough to take a short nap. Ugh! We hope this is a short phase experimenting with her new skills.
Ok, this doesn't actually show her walking around in her crib, but I couldn't resist including that mischievous little smirk!
Her last big development was finally popping her third tooth! After getting her first couple relatively early, those little teeth have been stubborn. We anticipate number four soon - it seems like it's right there!
Here's a look at our sweet
