Happy Easter!

Christ is Risen! It never gets old to hear that declaration and Easter Sunday in church is such a joyful service. Thank you, Jesus, for dying so that all of our sins can be forgiven. That is definitely something to celebrate!

Our celebrating started Saturday evening with dinner out both for Easter and Grandma Mary's birthday at Coup D'etat. Unfortunately Addy was battling another virus so we didn't all get to go, but the group that was out had a fun, delicious dinner.

Then, Sunday morning we woke up ready for a special day. Dax practically jumped out of bed, immediately wondering if the Easter bunny had visited our house. We played for a bit, waiting for Adelaide to wake up. As soon as we started to hear peeps from her room, Dax was ready to get her. While we changed her diaper Dax flitted around the room, hardly containing his energy and excitement. In doing so, he stumbled upon a surprise left by the Easter Bunny!

That first note led us on a hunt around the house, ending up at Dax and Addy's Easter baskets.

We spent a little time sorting through all of the goodies and then got ready quickly for church.

After the service, the kiddos got to go on another Easter egg hunt, this time for 6 eggs - one pink, one orange, one yellow, one green, one blue, and one purple. The rainbow of eggs also led them through a collection of items to represent the Easter story.

The third celebration commenced shortly after with the Olsons. It was a small gathering with few of the extended family, but we all enjoyed ourselves. Auntie Shannon had arranged another egg hunt for Dax and Adelaide and they were thrilled to participate. We then stuffed ourselves with a delicious brunch.

We were all ready for naps following the busy morning so we headed home for some down time. When everyone was up, we headed over to celebrate again with the Schulzes. It was a rare time when Sam and Anna were both home from college so the whole family was together. Dax and Ads happily hunted for eggs again, LOVED goofing around with the family, and we grilled for dinner. It was the perfect end to a special Easter day.

Christ is risen indeed! And we are so incredibly thankful for God's love and forgiveness so we can live freely and joyfully. Happy Easter to all!
