Happy Halloween!

Halloween started the beginning of October this year when Jake gave Dax a suggestion to be Gerald McGrew (from Dr. Seuss's, If I Ran the Zoo) and Dax immediately fell in love with the idea.

We started looking to collect and buy pieces of the costume and realized that it would be a little trickier than we initially expected. Thus, my mom and I decided to attempt to sew the pants.

Though not without a few hiccups, we succeeded and the costume ended up coming together!

Once the costumes were decided and complete, the kids got several opportunities to wear them and celebrate this fun holiday. It began with dinner and early trick-or-treating at Gma Amy's.

Then we attended Good Shepherd Lutheran Church's Trunk or Treat event.

The celebrating continued with early trick-or-treating at Grandma Mary and Grandpa Mick's house.

We also had a Halloween party for Faith Trek (Sunday School) at church this year.

On Halloween, Jake was home and came to music class with us! Then we enjoyed a themed lunch, carved pumpkins, ate a themed dinner, and dressed up for trick-or-treating. We drove to our nanny Penny's house first and then walked around our neighborhood for a bit. Both kids had so much fun and we were happy to see a lot more neighborhood kids out and about than past years.

Then, the day after Halloween, Dax's class had a costume parade, short program, and class party. I was able to volunteer at the party and it was such a blast to spend time with the sweet preschoolers!

It was such a fun holiday this year!
