Is there anything better than Easter morning? Dax woke up so excited to see if the Easter Bunny came. Then, at church, the pure joy, hope, and love exuding from everyone made for an incredible energy. Add in the message of Jesus' overwhelming love and sacrifice and there is definitely reason to celebrate. And celebrate we did!
The day started with a scavenger hunt from the Easter Bunny. Dax followed clues around the house to find his and Adelaide's baskets. That tricky bunny sent him all around! Dax loved checking out what the Easter Bunny brought him and Addy loved tasting everything in her basket.
At church, they had an egg hunt for the kids, too. Every child found one pink, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple egg, which had items that told the Easter story. Once he collected all of his, Dax got a cupcake treat and snuggled with me while we read about each item.
The late night before, extra sugar, and crazy morning caused a few meltdowns in our sweet boy, but he pulled it together for more afternoon fun with the Olsons. Grandpa Phil organized another scavenger hunt for eggs (our 5th hunt of the season - woah!). Then we had a delicious dinner, some play time, and good conversation.
Thank you, Jesus, for dying for us so that we can enjoy an incredible life on earth with the comforting knowledge that you love us even as sinners and we will get to spend our eternity in heaven with you. Amen.
Happy Easter everyone!
