Groupies

You may remember that Dax went to his first concert earlier this summer. We enjoyed the Okee Dokee Brothers and it was a special first so we bought a t-shirt and a CD. Since then, we have listened to the CD most days and Dax can often be heard saying shouting "Okee Brothers!". So when we found out that they were playing another concert at a library in Apple Valley, there was no question that we would be going.

We had been talking about it all week and Dax seemed to be excited. Sometimes he wakes up kind of sad really early in the morning. He will typically say, "Mommy" or "Daddy" a few times before finding a nukie and going back to sleep. This morning, he was up and fussing, but instead we heard, "Okee Brothers." While we would have rather been sleeping, Jake and I could not help but giggle at that.

A little later (and a slightly more reasonable hour), we were actually up and getting ready to go. Of course Dax wore his Okee Dokee Brothers t-shirt (yes, he was that kid wearing the shirt of the band to the concert!), and we listened to the CD all morning.

It was worth all the build-up because the concert was so fun. Dax was mesmerized and immediately started clapping after each song. We heard some new songs and some of our favorites. We also saw some of our friends at the show and even got to meet the band. It was definitely a highlight of the summer!
